Since the invention of the combustion engine, the world economy has become dependent on fossil fuel. But with increasing energy demands and growing concern over climate change, a cleaner, cheaper, renewable alternative to this finite fossil fuel must be found. One such alternative – attracting increasing support and investment from governments and industry around the world – is biofuel, a fuel sourced not from plants compressed for millennia under the ground but from plants sustainably grown and harvested year on year.
